Opening at April 2, 2025, through June 29, 2025. ARTIST RECEPTION Saturday, April 26, 2025, 3PM — 6PM Pacific Northwest Quilt & Fiber Arts Museum 703 S. 2nd Street, La Conner WA 98257
  • I am pleased to announce that my quilt Indecision-Select One  has been accepted into the exhibit Fiber Between the Lines an upcoming exhibition showcasing contemporary fiber artwork by Northwest Designer Craftartists members at the Pacific Northwest Quilt & Fiber Arts Museum in La Connor, WA. Artworks in the show were selected by artist and curator Ellen Ito, the exhibition highlights the diverse and innovative ways fiber artists push the boundaries of traditional techniques.
  • “Selecting the work for Fiber Between the Lines provided an opportunity to explore the dynamic fiber arts ecosystem, wherein legacy processes meet, commingle, and diverge,” said Ito. “Keen expressions of skill, the works are surprising, vibrant, organic, and tactile: Ikat goes 3D, embroidery becomes a painting, soft quilts shout with bold color. Diverse but in dialogue with one another, these NWDC member artists’ sculptures, installations, baskets, quilts, and wall pieces evince the makers’ vital relationships with creativity and each other.”
  • Indecision--Select One, 70” x 43” Hand printed dye on raw silk jacquard, whole cloth. Silk broadcloth back. Machine stitched.
These shapes represent those on forms that need to be filled in or left blank. Making decisions is often difficult because your choices have subtle differences. The layers in the weave of the silk, my printed dye colors, the stitching and the shadows it creates enhance the sense of complexity.  Indecision is wiggly like my black squares on one side and my white circles on the other. I decided that this piece has two fronts.
