Dye Workshop for Groups and Conferences
Ann will guide participants in increasingly complex exercises teaching how to sew designs that can’t be pieced. Participants will work from the front and the back to make original blocks with many layers of color and learn to use reverse appliqué techniques to revise the design of the block and to add borders. The focus will be adapting this approach to producing designs related to each student’s particular interests. As Ann demonstrates and shows examples of many of the possible variations with raw edge machine appliqué, students will sew their designs in as many different ways as possible. The resulting compositions may be the beginning of a new original quilt.
