Advanced Surface Design with Dye

Dye Workshop for Groups and Conferences

7–10 Days

LEVEL: This class is for the person who has enough experience with dyes to have advanced questions about how best to adapt them to his or her own uses

Ann will start with a brief review as needed of all key techniques including printing, painting, varying wet and dry layers, and resist. Ann will demonstrate combinations of dye methods and help students decide in what order to use them. Class members will chose their focus on particular techniques and explore the variations they present. They will be expected to set goals according to their own specific design and color interests, pursue and practice methods to achieve their design goals. By the end of the week, participants should be producing yardage that approaches these interests, and be able to illustrate what methods they used to the other participants.
